AS a Knights supporter from day one, I was very disappointed with the crowd turn out for Saturday night's game against the Warriors. With a membership of 20,000 I would have expected a minimum of 15,000 to 20,000. I remember the days of standing on the hill in the pouring rain and still attracting more than 15,000 supporters. Maybe we have a softer breed of supporter these days. It's when the boys are struggling that we should, as supporters, get behind them, and especially after the effort these boys put in against a full strength Warriors and two referees who gave the Knights no breaks.

DEBATE continues over self-service checkouts or serviced checkouts (Letters, 6/7), parking, or to join a tennis club or blow up because members are gender specific. I'm interested in immigration versus automation.

DEAR telemarketers, don't hang up when I ask for your name and phone number. You have mine. Why can't I have yours?

IN the past week my husband and I have come down with the flu. My husband got it far worse than me. I am on the mend now, but he is still very ill. He had the flu injection and I didn't. I wonder about the effectiveness of the injection and if I would have become as ill as him had I had it.

I WRITE as a Vietnam veteran. I am the holder of a gold card as a TPI recipient. My concern is that my wife/partner must wait until my death to be entitled to be a user of this card. For how many years have these carers endured the woes of the veteran without complaint? I believe they should be included on the gold card at the same time as the veteran. They have endured just as much angst and worry as us. In my opinion, the Department of Veterans' Affairs needs to recognise them as much as vets.

MICHAEL Hinchey (Letters, 4/7) hopes that we all survive the theatrical antics of Donald Trump and Kim Jong-Un on the 38th parallel line. I believe an additional worthy hope would be that they have a pistol duel at ten paces across that border and that they both fire perfect shots.

BRAD Hill (Short Takes, 8/7). Trump was NOT the people's choice. He lost the popular vote by 3 million votes. It was the US screwed up collegial system why he got in. I believe all he's got is lies.

JOHN Arnold (Letters, 2/7), you must read more carefully. My letter (Letters, 28/6) did qualify the statement with "obviously, these views must fall within certain constraints".

I'M curious about our apparent need for a law to enshrine religious freedom ('Backlash warned if religion threatened', Sun-Herald 6/7). I presume that will allow women to wear the burqa in parliament and allow Rastafarians to smoke the hooch on footpaths!
