COREY Lamb hopes to test himself against the best amateurs in the world next year after the Branxton teenager wrapped up his junior career with a wire-to-wire win at the State Age Championships at Belmont on Friday.

The 17-year-old, who left school earlier this year to concentrate on golf, took a six-stroke lead into the final round of the Jack Newton Junior Golf major.
He wasn't able to produce a fourth round in the 60s but his four-over 76 in blustery conditions was enough to seal the win. He finished at nine-under, four strokes clear of Queenslander Sam Slater (73,67,69,74). The Australian's Jeffery Guan (70,69,75,72) was third at two under. Newcastle's Josh Robards (70,71,71,77) was next at even par.
"That was my last major event as a junior so it was nice to win," Lamb said. "The goal today was to hit the middle of the green and two putt."
The girl's event was much tighter and required a play-off after Hye Park and Cassie Porter finished equal at seven under.
Park then birdied the first extra hole to defend her title.
Lamb's dominant win followed an all-the-way victory in the Queensland Junior Amateur last week.
The wins earned the right-hander a start at the Queensland Open and NSW Open, which are both in November.
"I'm probably in as good a form as I ever have been," Lamb said. "I have been practising really hard so it's good to see the results coming."
Lamb, who hopes to graduate into the senior NSW team next year, plans to follow in the footsteps of Charlestown 21-year-old Blake Windred and play in some of the major world amateur events.
"Hopefully I can play overseas next year and do well in some of the bigger amateur series, similar to what Blake has done," Lamb said.
