THE green grass under the pines in King Edward Park doesn't much resemble the wiley, windy moors that the real Kate Bush spun, kicked and danced her way across in the late 1970s.

But that did not stop a bunch of red-clad Kates from busting out their best moves in tribute of Bush's 1978 hit Wuthering Heights on Saturday.
It's called The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever, a flash mob and worldwide celebration as quirky and hard to pin down as the artist who inspired it.
Basically everyone dresses in red (women, men and pets) and they blast Wuthering Heights in the amphitheatre at King Edward Park and do their best to replicate Kate Bush's expressive and free spirited dance moves from the music video.
Meanwhile, more red dress wearing Kate imitators are doing the same thing in cities around Australia and the world, from Paris, Dublin, Berlin and North America. The event in Newcastle also raised money for Jenny's Place domestic violence resource centre.
