Fitness for positive bodies

The Self Care Sisterhood is a female-only, fitness studio for women to move their bodies for their mental health, minus diet culture, mean girls and body shaming.
It was founded by Chloe Sutton as a safe space for women to be included, celebrate body diversity and know that all bodies are good bodies.
Chloe now runs the business alongside long-term client-turned-personal-trainer-turned-business partner Ellen Lynch.
Both Chloe and Ellen live with chronic illness, pain and mental illness and understand how important movement is to physical and mental health.
"The Self Care Sisterhood offers a wide range of small group classes and personal training to teach clients how to trust their body and move for their minds," Chloe says.
"We count small victories, not calories, to empower our clients to acknowledge what they can do, minus fear, guilt and shame.
"We support our local Girl Gang with monthly social events, a weekly coffee club, and a Body Positive book club to ensure everyone is included and valued. Our main philosophy is, 'She moves for her mind' and anything else is an added bonus."
Chloe and Ellen believe all women deserve access to movement with options for all bodies. "We are a proudly mental health friendly, weight-neutral space and operate under the 'health at every size' philosophy."
Chloe and Ellen are committed to educating women about self-care and compassionate movement, as well as providing options for all bodies during their classes.

"This means there is always modifications, chairs, straps, blocks and aids to accommodate your unique body," Chloe says.
Some of the classes offered include strength training, pilates, bend and stretch, meditation and hatha yoga.
The studio also has a dietitian and intuitive eating expert on board.
Meg McClintock helps women nourish their bodies and enjoy food without feelings of guilt.
Above all, the women want to encourage self care among members; a lifestyle to keep mental and physical pain at a minimum.
