A PEDESTRIAN has survived after he was hit by a truck travelling on the Pacific Highway overnight.

Emergency services were called to the side of the highway at Heatherbrae just after midnight to reports a person had been hit while walking along the road.
Paramedics treated a 40-year-old man at the scene, before he was transported to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
He had a laceration to the back of the head and had suffered grazes to the hip, as well as multiple other abrasions to his body.
Police will now investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
