The company won approval for the earlier this month, allowing it to schedule the $11.5 million project for the seven-hectare site.
The state-significant works involve rehabilitation and concrete capping of the land, allowing it to be used for commercial and industrial purposes.

Hoarding was established around the site in June. The rehabilitation is expected to take about a year.
A 2016 report into the contamination noted some of the toxins were leaching into groundwater.
Submissions during the approval phase for the remediation works included an objection from Correct Planning and Consultation for Mayfield Group's John L Hayes lodged last August.
Mr Hayes wrote that the final use of the site should be determined before remediation began.
"Future development of the site may well mean that theintegrity of the remediated surface could be damaged and or penetrated," he wrote.
"To rely on the development application process to maintain andintegrity of the cap seems to be a very risky process."
