A MAN who allegedly assaulted two security guards and a police officer in a Hunter hospital's emergency department will face court next week.

The man is the second person charged with assaulting police in the region in recent days.
Police will allege the 42-year-old was admitted about 8pm on Friday and became aggressive and agitated about three hours later.
"Three security guards attempted to restrain the patient resulting in two of the guards being assaulted," NSW Police said in a statement.
"Officers from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District were called to assist and, in an attempt to restrain the patient one male officer was allegedly assaulted."
The man was eventually subdued and admitted for treatment. Upon release, he was taken to Maitland police station and served a court attendnace notice for assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and assault police officer in the execution of his duty.
He received bail to face court on August 14.
The incident follows NSW hospital workers striking last week over workplace safety concerns.
Separately, two men have been charged after allegedly resisting police at Martins Creek.
Police will allege they found a black Toyota Prado performing aggravated burn-outs at the intersection of Dungog Road and Grace Avenue about 6.15pm on Sunday night.
The vehicle caught fire and two men fled the scene. A short time later police were called to Cory Street, where a brawl had allegedly broken out.
Officers attempted to arrest two men, 26 and 30. It is alleged they resisted arrest.
The pair were apprehended and taken to Maitland police station, where they were both charged with affray and resist officer.
The older man was also charged with two counts of assault officer, police said.
Both men were refused bail to face Maitland Local Court.
