BEACHWATCH

CLEAN offshore conditions with the swell beginning to slowly drop today. There's a better chance of a wave on the beach breaks as they won't be closing out as much. Swell from the southeast at 1m to 1.5m. Winds are moderate, northwest to west. A very shallow low tide first up. Sure to be a few out on the dawn patrol. Merewether,Pogos and South Bar for the early; Dixon, Cliff and Flatrock to improve as tide fills; Burwood, Dudley and Catherine Hill Bay down the coast; One Mile up at Port Stephens. A warmer current about, and slight sweeps running north. The water is 17 degrees. - Dave Anderson
