The quick sale of a tightly held Eleebana home is believed to have set a new price high for its street.
The four-bedroom, three-bathroom house with lake views and a seven-car garage on a block 1341 square metres in size was at 23 Pannamena Crescent.
It was on the market for the first time since being built nearly 30 years ago and marketed by Belle Property Charlestown with a guide of $1.5 million to $1.6 million. It sold to a local purchaser for an undisclosed sum believed to be above the guide after just four days on the market.
According to Australian Property Monitors data, the highest sale for the street was $1.3 million for No.19 in 2017.
The sale comes after the agency also sold a four-bedroom home on 2296 square metres of land at 15 Lamington Drive off market for over $1.7 million. It was also a price high for its exclusive street and agent Anthony Di Nardo said both homes were "rare stock".
In Merewether, a "cutting-edge" three-bedroom home built by Craig Marriott Building and marketed by Robinson Property at 25 Winsor Street sold within two weeks on the market for $2.1 million.
First National Newcastle City sold 95 Kemp Street in Hamilton South for $1.23 million after 10 days on the market and 39 Illalung Road in Lambton at auction last weekend for $665,000.
