Nearly 100 groups of people have been through a 1960s Merewether home set for auction on Saturday, according to McGrath Newcastle City's Tammy Hawkins.

Ms Hawkins is marketing the four-bedroom house at 20 Kempster Street with a guide of $920,000. It is set for auction on site at 11.15am and open for inspection from 10.45am.

"We've had a lot of people through and there's some good interest in the property and we're expecting to sell it," Ms Hawkins said.
The median sale price for a house in Merewether this year, according to Australian Property Monitors data, is $1.07 million for 49 sales.
Ms Hawkins described the home on an elevated block 550 square metres in size as a "blank canvas" with development potential, subject to council approval.
In Hamilton East, Walkom Real Estate's Kate Rundle will take a 1920s Californian Bungalow in Hamilton East to auction at 11.15am.
The six-bedroom home with a swimming pool at 33 Hebburn Street is on a block 1046 square metres in size and is on the market for the first time in over 50 years. It has many original features, including leadlight windows, french doors, picture rails and high ceilings.
A price guide has not been disclosed. It is open for inspection from 10.45am.
Street Property's Damon Sellis will take a renovated three-bedroom home at 43 Hamilton Street in Hamilton North to auction on site today at 2pm.
The three-bedroom house with an in-ground swimming pool has a guide of $750,000 to $790,000, which Mr Sellis has described as "exceptional value".
It will be open for inspection at 1.30pm.
