The talented dancer from Belmont successfully auditioned for The Royal Ballet School back in 2016.
Since then he has spent time working on his technique and performance, " feeling an overwhelming sense of relief" when he was offered a contract with the ballet company at the end of his studies.
"I will be surrounded by some of the best classical ballet dancers in the world, I hope to use them as a source of inspiration and improve my own dancing," he said.
"I'm looking forward to gaining more stage experience, as I will be in a number of performances each week. My first performance with the company will be in Manon which opens later this year."
The young dancer is a long way from home, but the move to London has been a positive one.
"London is a fantastic city to live in," he said.
"I would love to stay for as long as possible, however getting the chance to dance principal roles in any company would be my ultimate career goal."
