The Tingira Heights 17-year-old once again lines up at centre for Central in the Newcastle Rugby League competition on Saturday as the rookie helps the Butcher Boys chase a finals spot.
Less than 24 hours later Donoghoe will switch codes and run onto the Sydney Cricket Ground, representing the Newcastle Knights in the NRL Touch Premiership decider.
"It's the first time this year I've had to double up," Donoghoe said.
"It will be a big weekend, but it will be worth it."
Knights' teammates, Western Suburbs rugby league brothers Alex and Daniel Langbridge, will also be backing up from a game the day before.
The trio have previously linked together on the touch football field with the Doyalson Dragons, who last year completed the title clean sweep of Vawdon Cup, State Cup and NSW Country Championships.
They are now striving for another piece of silverware in 2019.
"It would be good for Newcastle," Donoghoe said.
The Knights meet the undefeated North Queensland Cowboys in the men's NRL Touch Premiership grand final.
Newcastle, who have a 5-1 record, lost their only encounter with the minor premiers earlier this season.
"It will be about creating pressure and grinding it out," Donoghoe, who joined the Knights this year, said.
Newcastle also took part in last year's inaugural NRL Touch Premiership, but it has expanded from six to eight NRL clubs in 2019.
In the women's showdown, minor premiers the Parramatta Eels meet the Brisbane Broncos.
Play starts at 12pm. It will be broadcast live on Fox League and Kayo Sports.
The NRL fixture between the Roosters and Warriors will follow at the same venue on Sunday from 2pm.
