On Friday, HBCF fed around forty hungry office-workers at the launch party of the charity's "BBQ for Boobs" campaign. The event was held at The Station and was attended by former Masterchef contestant Steph de Sousa.
The "BBQ for Boobs" initiative is targeted at workplaces. Businesses and other teams can register online to host a barbecue. All funds raised through the events will assist cancer sufferers and their families through the trajectory of the disease. Funds can go towards things like cleaning, shopping services and wig hire.
"The campaign is about businesses creating a caring culture. It's workplace wellness and workplace giving," HBCF fundraising coordinator Katherine McLean said.
"Newcastle is so connected and we all have some example of how breast cancer has influenced our lives."
Barbecue events can be registered from Monday.
