The Entertainment and Education Group says work has commenced on the renovation and the entertainment centre will reopen before the September school holidays.
Timezone Australia general manager Kane Fong said the renovation would follow in the footsteps of relaunched venues such as Timezone Haymarket and focus on creating a modern, inviting venue featuring the creative use of lighting, colour and a range of textured finishes.
"Timezone has a rich and storied history in Australia," he said.
"We all have a Timezone memory, be it a memorable first date, a moment shared with your Dad or simply many happy days with friends.
"The Timezone Charlestown refresh confirms our commitment to providing our loyal guests with magical family experiences.
"Timezone is a space that encourages bonding, creating memories and sharing moments with your nearest and dearest."
New arcade additions will include Pump It Up Prime TX, Daytona Champ USA, Mario Kart Arcade GP and Crossy Road.
The refurbished venue will also boast a new party room, providing a versatile space for hosting a children's birthday party, family gathering or team-building session.
"The new Timezone Charlestown will cater for all ages; young families, teenagers and adults alike It will be a multifaceted venue with a great, fun-filled atmosphere - we're excited to share the experience with our guests," Adam Porter, Timezone Charlestown venue manager, said.
