About 2pm Tuesday police executed a search warrant at a home on Wickham Street, Stanford Merthyr, just outside of Kurri Kurri where they spoke with a 32-year-old man.
During the search, officers seized parts of firearms, including pistol and rifle parts, ammunition and credit cards.
The man was arrested and taken to Cessnock police station.
He was charged with goods in custody, possess prohibited weapon without permit, possess ammunition without licence and four counts of possess firearm barrel.
He was refused bail to appear at Maitland Local Court on Wednesday.
