The sale of a custom-built "masterpiece" in New Lambton that was designed to make a statement is believed to have set a new street high for Curzon Road.

The residence at No.54 had five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a soaring tri-level void and suspended staircase. It enjoyed city views and featured a self-contained guest wing.

"We wanted a modern look, modern facilities and modern technology and also something unique for the street," the owners, who did not wish to be named, told Domain when it was listed in September of last year.
Dalton Partners' Lisa Mackin marketed the prestigious property, which was sold for an undisclosed sum. The last published price guide was $2.55 million to $2.75 million. According to Australian Property Monitors data, the previous highest sale for Curzon Street was when $1.81 million was paid for No.64 in January last year.
Robinson Property's Mike Flook reported the fast sale of a block of four "original style" two-bedroom units in The Hill. The property at 34 Swan Street was on 790 square metres of land with R2 Low Density Residential zoning and was bought by investors for $1.485 million within its first week on the market.
Another quick mover came in Hamilton with 9 Percy Street secured after its first open house for $835,000. The three-bedroom home was sold by McKiernan Real Estate and agent Andrew McKiernan said it represented "a sign of the buyer activity out there at the moment".
"Eighteen groups went through the open home and there were a number of offers on it and we're just finding that across the board," he said.
"This home was on 500 square metres, or just over, in Hamilton, which was always going to be really sought after," he said. "The people who bought it spotted it online from Melbourne and flew from Melbourne especially to have a look at it on the Friday before the Saturday open and then exchanged unconditionally on it on the Monday
The median sale price for a Hamilton home, according to Australian Property Monitors data, for this year to date is $745,000 for 22 homes. Last year, it was $792,000 for 65 sales.
