The Herald is a finalist in the Regional News Brand of the Year category of the awards, which recognise excellence and innovation in the media industry across Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific.
Three Herald photographers have also been nominated for awards. Marina Neil has been nominated for regional and community sports photography.
Jonathan Carroll is a finalist for regional sports photography and regional news photography. Max Mason-Hubers has been nominated in the community portrait, feature or lifestyle category for two pictures published in the Maitland Mercury.
Winners are announced next month.
