New pet-friendly cabins at Lake Mac Holiday Parks mean you no longer have to leave your fur babies at home when you go on holidays.
Specially equipped accommodation with safety fencing, dog beds, pet food stations and covered furniture have just launched at Blacksmiths Beachside and Belmont Lakeside Holiday Parks.
Blacksmiths Beachside Park Managers Caroline and Andrew Affleck said they had received requests "at least daily" for pet-friendly accommodation over the past few years.
"That is where the idea came from," said Mrs Affleck.
"Pets are a greater part of the family unit now more than ever, especially with older people whose four-legged friends might be their greatest companion.

"Another factor is the price of pet resorts and boarding kennels. These put greater financial strain on families going on holiday, but by offering these new accommodation options they can bypass this additional cost."
Lake Mac Holiday Parks operates four sites at Belmont, Blacksmiths, Swansea and Wangi Point, with all four parks achieving a rating of at least 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor.
Blacksmiths Beachside Holiday Park also won gold last month at the 2019 Sydney Surrounds North Regional Tourism Awards, taking out the Caravan and Holiday Parks category.
The holiday parks offer accommodation options from unpowered camping sites through to deluxe cabins and villas, sleeping up to six people, plus an option for up to nine people at Swansea.

Each venue boasts its own range of facilities for visitors, which include free wifi, kids playgrounds, a swimming pool, recreation room, boat launching facilities, mini golf, plus basketball and tennis courts.
At the Blacksmiths Beachside Holiday Park, pooch owners can check into the dog-friendly villa, which sleeps up to six people and two small dogs. The furry visitors get to enjoy their own dog bed, water bowl and a doggy door which leads out to an enclosed verandah.
Belmont Lakeside Holiday Parks dog-friendly cabin sleeps up to four people, and boasts an open plan lounge and kitchenette, plus an enclosed verandah which is also accessible by doggy door for the four-legged guests.

The new pet-friendly policy is now in place at Belmont and Blacksmiths, and Lake Mac Holiday Parks Coordinator Garry Ellem said it ensures pets and their families have a fantastic stay without affecting other park guests.
"Belmont Lakeside and Blacksmiths Beachside already offer pet-friendly camping options year-round," Mr Ellem said.
"This expands the accommodation options for people with pets."
"Blacksmiths and Belmont are our two pilot sites for this exciting initiative, but it's certainly something we will look at expanding once we gauge its success."
Lake Mac pet owner Joelle Brockman, whose English bulldog Brixton road-tested the Blacksmiths facilities, has welcomed the new accommodation option.
"It's great to see more of these pet-friendly places emerging," Ms Brockman said.

"It really reflects the role our pets play as part of the family, and it means we can get away without having to leave Brixton behind."
Some dog breeds are prohibited at the holiday parks so it's best to check prior to booking.
