Magic are fifth on 35 points, two goals behind Lambton Jaffas and a point shy of Charlestown. Weston (34) are also in NNSW NPL finals contention.
Premiership hopefuls Maitland (40) and Edgeworth (38) are safely in the top four, leaving Charlestown, Jaffas, Magic and Weston to battle for two spots on Sunday.
Like Jaffas, who host Edgeworth, the equation is simple for Broadmeadow and Charlestown. Win and you're in. Draw and you rely on other results.
The Bears must beat Lake Macquarie at Weston Park to have any chance of making finals, but they can still miss out with a win.
A draw with Weston and losses to Jaffas and Hamilton in the past month have left Broadmeadow on shaky ground. They beat the Jets Youth 5-0 last week to stay in the hunt, but they will be missing defender Jon Griffiths and potentially top scorer James Virgili on Sunday.
Griffiths is out for two games on card accumulation, while Virgili could miss a second game with a groin strain. Ryan Ensor returns from suspension.
"I'm not sure with him yet," coach Ruben Zadkovich said on Friday of Virgili playing.
"He trained a little bit last night but he still looked a bit ginger, so I'm not sure if we'll go with him off the bench. But whoever we've got will be good enough."
Broadmeadow lost 3-1 to Charlestown in their first encounter this year, and the Blues go into the return clash on a six-game unbeaten run.
Zadkovich, though, said Magic were "pumped for a big game" at home, where they have won nine of 11 matches this year.
"They got us at the end of a tricky run in that first round," he said. "We were 1-0 up in the 60th minute and then died in the end, after we had Jaffas midweek in extra-time.
"But we're confident. We're looking forward to having Charlestown at our home. We know what we'll get. We'll get a pretty physical opposition, they work really hard, but we'll have a fair few things up our sleeve."
Charlestown are in a slightly better position but a draw may still not be enough for them to make the finals.
"They are going to have to bring the game to us, but we'll also not sit back and play for the draw," Blues coach David Tanchevski said. "We'll play for the win and make sure we're secure."
Tanchevski said Adam Hughes and Peter McPherson remained out with injury.

Weston, meanwhile, will welcome back centre-back Zac Sneddon from suspension. Max Foster is out injured.
The Bears rose from three years at the bottom end of the table to lead the league midway through the season, but three draws and a loss in their past five games have knocked them out of the top four.
"We've just got to win and hope that Edgy get a win as well," Bears assistant coach Craig Stoker said.
"It's not good putting ourselves in this situation but it's still good to be in the mix, I suppose,
"They want to play semis, they are keen to get a taste of it after the last few years they've had."
