The former NSW captain makes his last NRL appearance at PointsBet Stadium on Sunday and although Cronulla's home ground does not compare to Queensland's cauldron in Brisbane, the 20-year-old see some similarities as Canberra target the finals series.

"Playing in front of a big crowd like that it's going to be a high-pressure game and a big learning curve for especially me and a few other boys that haven't played finals yet, it's going to give us a taste of what's to come," he said.

Cotric said he was braced to encounter the most hostile crowd of his burgeoning career - outside of Origin - when the Sharks faithful turn out for Gallen.

"The crowd is a bit different there so it's going to be a tough one, so you've just got to block that out and do your job for the team," he said.

Cotric, who debuted for the Raiders in 2017, has a new role this weekend as he reverts from the wing to centre to cover Joey Leilua, who copped a two-match ban for dropping his knees into a Manly opponent.

"I was playing there (centre) while he was out (injured) so I'm looking forward to the test against Bronson Xerri, he's a great young player," he said.

"I grew up playing on the right side of the field so that's my preferred side but it doesn't really bother me, I'll play anywhere."

Canberra can cement a place in the top-four with a round remaining if they do the double on seventh-placed Cronulla following their two-point win in the capital in June.

Cotric admitted it would be a tough ask given the third-placed Raiders have only won three games against top-eight opposition in 2019 as they aim for a just a second finals campaign in seven years.

"It's a good test for the team against these top teams ... just to see where we're at and to know what we need to be working on come finals," he said, as the Raiders face top-eight opposition for a fourth successive week.
