The Robinson Property agent is marketing a five-bedroom home at 21 Oxley Road that was built around 15 years ago and, according to Australian Property Monitors data, sold for $940,000 in June of 2016.

A price guide has not yet been set for this campaign but the property is expected to produce one of highest sales for the suburb. According to APM data only two homes in Waratah have sold over the $1 million mark. One was Braeside, a grand Frederick Menkens designed 1895 residence in Lorna Street on over 2600 square metres of land. The other was Carclew, also an 1800s Victorian home on a substantial block in Lambton Road.

But Ms Allan said it was rare to find a modern offering such as the home in Oxley Road, which has formal and informal living and dining spaces, a granite kitchen, study, lock-up double garage and rear timber deck.

The home is positioned on an elevated corner block 645 square metres in size. It has expansive district views and an in-ground swimming pool.

"It's such a substantial property for the area. It's got everything a family would want and you don't often find that in that location," Ms Allan said.

It is open for its first inspection at 12.15pm on Saturday.

Interest has been all local for a penthouse in the Royal's Nickson building with panoramic ocean views from the Newcastle Ocean Baths to Redhead bluff.

PRDnationwide Newcastle and Lake Macquarie are selling the three-bedroom apartment at 31/1 King Street with a guide of $2 million to $2.2 million.

Agent Jesse Wilton said the building was sought-after by East End residents "looking to upsize".

The apartment has been an investment and is currently being leased for $1250 per week. It is set for an in-room auction on October 2 and is open at midday on Saturday.

Walkom Real Estate are marketing a three-bedroom residence on The Hill at 1 High Street for $1.5 million to $1.6 million.

A four-bedroom home with a downstairs studio at 9 Jesmond Street in Redhead has been listed for sale through First National Altitude with a price guide of $1.05 million to $1.15 million. It is set on a block 657 square metres in size with rear-lane access.

Robinson Property have a four-bedroom, two-storey home at 8 Railway Street, Merewether on the market for $1.25 million to $1.35 million.

A three-bedroom house that has been in the same family for over 60 years at 16 Joslin Street in Kotara is being sold by Dalton Partners for $599,000.

First National Newcastle City are selling a three-bedroom, three-bathroom home on nearly 700 square metres of land at 11A Currawong Road in Cardiff Heights for $660,000 to $720,000. They also have a house with three bedrooms on a 285 square metre block at 37 Steel Street in Hamilton for $650,000 to $700,000.

Ray White Toronto are selling a three-bedroom, brick house at 10 Sarina Street in Maryland on 611 square metres of land for $495,000.

A three-bedroom home on around 774 square metres of land at 16 Charles Street in Tingira Heights is on the market through McGrath Newcastle City for $480,000 to $520,000.

Street Property are selling a one-bedroom apartment off the plan in The Angel Islington at 102/9 Ivy Street for $399,000.
