The Hawks had a controlled contact session with Terrigal on Saturday to help make up for the lost weekend due to the postponement of the finals by a week.
"It was more like a training session than a trial game," Coleman said. "We did live scrums and lineouts, the backs did some starters and we did a scrimmage. It was beneficial but my biggest concern is being underdone."
Maitland, who had the bye in the last round, had a similar break before doing down to Wanderers 35-19 in the qualifying semi-final.
"Wanderers out enthused them, which they have been doing all year, but you could tell that Maitland hadn't played in three weeks," Coleman said.
Hamilton fulllback Zac Crowley (pictured) will play on Saturday and then back up for Country Colts against City in Sydney on Sunday.
* Wanderers breakaway Jack Johnson-Holmes will also play on Saturday before heading to Sydney. Johnson-Homes comes into the pack for Dan Kevill who is suspended after picking up his third yellow card. However, the Two Blues will lose colts Elias Pettigrew and Will Archer for the second grade minor semi final on Sunday.
* Lake Macquarie breakaway Sapati Peniata will face the judiciary next week on a charge of leading with his knee in the Roos' 27-all draw with Merewether. Merewether prop Tyson Watene was knocked out cold and spent the night in hospital after attempting a tackle on Peniata.
Peniata was not penalised but the NHRU citing commissioner deemed he had a case to answer after Merewether made a complaint about the incident, which has ruled Watene out of the minor semi-final against Maitland.
The citing commissioner also looked at an incident in which Merewether centre dropped down on Lake Macquarie winger Nick Benn after he scored a try, but ruled it was not worthy of red card.
