The $2.175 million off-market sale of a 5685 square metre property featuring a four-bedroom home, covered swimming pool and tennis court at 203 Grinsell Street has set a new sale high for Kotara.

PRDnationwide Newcastle and Lake Macquarie sold the property last month with agent Chasse Ede saying the local purchaser was from their database. According to Australian Property Monitors data, it was the first Kotara property to surpass $2 million.
A classic 1920s Merewether residence known as Rose Lea at 21 Elliott Street was secured at auction last weekend for $1.48 million. It was marketed by Tammy Hawkins, of McGrath Newcastle City, with a guide of $1.35 million.
PRDnationwide's Jesse Wilton described the auction of a "reimagined" 1860s terrace on a double block at 79 Wolfe Street on The Hill as "amazing". It was secured by a Newcastle buyer for $2.66 million.
The $1.7095 million sale of Redhead home with an indoor pool at 20 Dodds Street is the highest for the suburb this year and third-highest ever, according to APM data. The Agency's Cveta Kolarvoski said it was secured by a Melbourne buyer.
A Cooks Hill home at 45 Corlette Street marketed by First National Newcastle City with a guide of $1.9 million has been sold for an undisclosed sum.
First National also sold a Torrens Title home at 50 Ridge Street for $1.7 million ahead of its scheduled auction and an original beach house on a large block at 11 Nott Street, Merewether, under the hammer for $1.71 million last weekend.

A new sale street record has been set for Elermore Vale's Aries Way, according to Australian Price Monitors data.
Sam Tsiaousis, of Harcourts Newcastle, reported "a lot of interest from local buyers looking for a large family home" before selling a four-bedroom house at 31 Aries Way for $765,000 during the week.
It had hit the market on September 12, according to domain.com.au. APM data revealed it surpassed the $670,000 sale of a home in Aries Way last year.
"Elermore Vale is becoming very desirable as it provides excellent value for money and has easy access to the Hunter valley and Sydney," Mr Tsiaousis said.
A street record was also registered, according to APM data, with the $625,000 sale of a three-bedroom home on 790 square metres of land at 45 Perks Street in Wallsend marketed by Andriessen Property.
APM data showed no home had sold over $500,000 in Perks Street before.
In Hamilton, Robinson Property sold a three-bedroom home at 11 Donald Street for $635,000 and First National Newcastle City sold a three-bedroom house at 37 Steel Street for $680,000.
A four-bedroom home at 7 Grevillea Close in Adamstown Heights, close to Fernleigh Track and Glenrock State Conservation Area, sold under the hammer for $905,000 on Saturday.
