It was the most points by a winning team since Lakes beat Nelson Bay 40-24 in 2006, it was the biggest margin since Wests defeated Souths 51-14 in 1998 and it was the first time a losing side had been kept scoreless since Wests shut out Lakes 33-0 in 1992.
Making the runaway success even sweeter Wests, who had finished 10 points clear on top of the competition ladder and dropped just two games during the regular season, soldiered on without captain, halfback and Newcastle RL player of the year Luke Walsh for most of the decider.
Walsh, a former NRL and English Super League playmaker, left the field with an ankle injury in the fifth minute and never returned, but his Rosellas teammates answered the call by stepping up when it mattered most.
Chad O'Donnell shifted from fullback to pivot, Sam Keenan came from the bench and filled the No.1 role while regular five-eighth Ryan Walsh, Luke's brother, assumed the goal kicking duties and was successful with all six attempts.
Second-rower Ryan Walker shone for Wests and received man-of-the-match honours, combining strong defensive efforts with a hat-trick of tries.
Walker went over for three straight four pointers between the 21st and 42nd minutes after lock Ben Stone opened the Rosellas' account in the 16th minute by crashing over next to the uprights.
Over the next 11 minutes Walker, the 2017 player of the year, cut through with two left-foot steps inside the 20 metre zone for his first before an impressive half-volley pick-up on the run nabbed number two.
Wests were leading 18-0 at half-time.
From the ensuing restart, Cessnock failed to collect the ball and made a mistake. Wests went left from the midfield scrum about 25m out and Walker sliced through again.
Rosellas wingers, Mao Uta and Malu Fiu, then made the try scorers list before the hour mark. Uta from a questionable pass in the 49th minute and Fiu from a cross-field chip in the 57th minute.
Cessnock finished with just 15 fit players, having lost Dan Metcalf (Achilles tendon) and Paul Carter (ribs) to game-ending injuries in the 14th and 46th minutes respectively.
Rosellas starting props Tama Koopu and Warren Schillings were penalised and put on report for a tackle on Goannas winger Joe Woodbury in the 25th minute.
In earlier grand finals the spoils were shared between Wests (reserves), Maitland (opens), Lakes (under 19s) and Central (Women's Blues Tag).
