A driver has died at the scene of a fiery crash in the Hunter region overnight.

NSW police are investigating the circumstances of a single-vehicle crash at Killingworth in Lake Macquarie.
The vehicle is understood to have been travelling north on the Pacific Motorway near O'Donnelltown Road at Killingworth around 11.40pm, when it left the road and crashed into bushland.
Police have said the vehicle then caught alight and the driver died at the scene.
A crime scene has been established as inquiries continue. The driver has not yet been identified.
