A venue for the 2018-19 decider has yet to be determined but Newcastle will meet the southern pool winner on November 17 having accounted for North Coast, Central North and hosts Central Coast across the three-day carnival.
"We can't do much more than that," Newcastle representative coach Shane Burley said.
"It was a good weekend and I thought everyone contributed."
Newcastle scored at better than a-run-a-ball on Sunday in what was a virtual semi against Central Coast at Jubilee Park.
Both teams went into the third round encounter with a perfect record from the opening two days of competition and the visitors eventually triumphed by 140 runs.
After winning the toss and electing to bat Newcastle made an impressive one-day total of 6-324, featuring half-centuries to top four Daniel Arms (50), Aaron Wivell (84), Nathan Price (57) and Jeff Goninan (66), before dismissing Central Coast for 184 in the 36th over.
"It was a much better batting deck and we challenged the guys by saying 30s and 40s weren't going to be good enough out there," Burley said.
"They really stepped up. Arms and Wivell put on 104 for the opening partnership, the top four all got half centuries and we never lost back-to-back wickets."
Newcastle trio Brad Aldous (3-41), captain Nick Foster (3-38) and Aaron Bills (2-17) were the main wicket takers on Sunday.
Jed Dickson's 26 gave him 100 runs for the tournament having scored 32 not out and 42 during chases on days one and two respectively.
Newcastle twice reeled in targets of between 180 and 190, but with a combined four wickets in hand.
Saturday saw Newcastle dismiss Central North for 188 at Sohier Park before getting home eight down in the 44th over.
"The first two days the decks weren't that batting friendly. They were slow and really favoured the spinners," Burley said.
"We had to work pretty hard and even though we lost a few wickets in the middle order, level heads prevailed. I thought we showed really good calmness in those chases."
Burley praised the efforts of first-time Newcastle skipper Foster, who also took four wickets and scored 39 unbeaten runs in those two games.
Josh Geary (3-28, 3-23) picked up six wickets.
Newcastle, who missed last year's showdown, claimed the prize in 2013-14, 2015-16 and 2017-18.
Southern pool fixtures, including defending champions ACT Southern Districts, start in Goulburn on Friday.
