Another southerly coming up the coast today and this time some stronger winds should generate an increase and change in direction. Conditions to start off small and clean with the tide going low mid morning. Swell swinging from the East to South at 1m. Wind light N/W freshening South during the morning. Only a few shorebreaks about on the low tide. Try South Bar, The Cliff and Newcastle beach off the middle. Redhead, Frenchmans and Fraser to the south. Boxy and Fingal up at Port Stephens. Waters cool in with a cold current about and southern corners sanding up. Swim between the flags if going in. Water temp 16C. - Dave Anderson

HUNTER BOATING
Winds Northwest to northeasterly 15 to 25 knots tending south to southwesterly 20 to 30 knots early in the morning then becoming southerly 20 to 25 knots in the late evening. Seas 1 to 1.5 metres, increasing to 2 to 3 metres during the morning. 1st Swell Southerly below 1 metre, increasing to 1.5 to 2.5 metres around midday. 2nd Swell Northeasterly 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing to around 1 metre during the morning.
