The family-owned Gilbert & Roach Kenworth and DAF truck dealership at Hexham is proud to be a gold sponsor of the Newcastle Hunter Transport Awareness Day.
Being held this year on November 10, the day helps to promote the transport industry to the public and amongst its peers, through fostering a greater understanding and awareness of its role in our community.
This year's Transport Awareness Day will again kick off at Sandgate with a convoy featuring over 100 shined up prime-movers which will make its way up to Maitland Showground and assemble on ground where family, friends and spectators can get up close with the big rigs and people who drive them.
Throughout the day, transport providers, employees and subcontractors along with their families and friends can learn more about latest practice, network with peers and promote safe road practices to the public.
There'll be no shortage of fun for all the family, with food and drinks available throughout the day and live entertainment courtesy of Hurricane Fall. All funds raised will go to Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service and Ronald McDonald House.
"It's a great way for the industry to interact with the public in a fun way," Kenworth/DAF Dealer Principle Scott Medhurst said.
"It's a huge day in terms of events, fun for all the family and a really effective way to raise awareness about the transport industry and the role we all play in keeping the roads safe."
Gilbert and Roach has been operating out of their Hexham site at 320 Pacific Highway since 1984.

Four full-time auto electricians are on site in the Electrical & Air-conditioning Department and the parts department and supermarket sprawls over 800 square metres with a range of necessities and accessories.
All backed up by a motivated teams of parts interpreters supporting customers with counter sales, phone orders, email orders, mobile van sales and deliveries as well as monthly specials.
