Macolm Macleod, of Marshalls Property, is marketed the two-storey brick house at 34 Ross Street and told Domain there had been good interest leading up to the on-site auction, which is set for midday.
The home was built and owned by the late Bill Eastham, of Easthams Jeans.
"It's a great spot. It's lovely waterfront and clean water and it's a flat walk into town and to all of the facilities," Mr Macleod said.
He added it was rare to find a Ross Street property at a lower price point. Bidding is expecting in the high $900,000 to $1 million range.
Another tightly held property in another sought-after position is set for a 10am auction Saturday in 38 The Quarter Deck in Merewether Heights. Street Property's Damon Sellis is marketing the three-bedroom home with a guide of $890,000 to $960,000.
"It's been a very popular home in the campaign and we're expecting a good turnout for the auction," Mr Sellis said.
"It's one of the most sought-after streets in Merewether Heights because of the level blocks and aspect."
Last weekend, there were six registered bidders for a three-bedroom home at 19 Denney Street in Broadmeadow that was on the market for the first time in 50 years. It was marketed with a guide of $555,000 to $595,000 and sold under the hammer for $610,000.
"It's one of those city fringe suburbs and was entry price point for someone looking to renovate or invest or for first home buyers," Mr Sellis said.
