Debut album You Work For Us (2017), still straddled the comedic realm, but I Just Do What God Tells Me To Do expands their sonic palette. The Ramones influences are evident on Nerve 2 Reverse, but In The Light Of Day branches out into melodic post-punk. While Stray Forever with its multiple rhythm changes shows TNSW have become more adventurous.
The spoken-word title track that references a Christian contestant on The Voice who said "God told him to do it" after ruining a Prince song, is the closest the album comes to comedy. These funny boys are serious about their music.
