A FIVE-year-old girl is in a critical condition after being found inside a car in the driveway of a home at Port Stephens, police say.

Natasha Gorjup was found inside a car parked in the driveway of the Tanilba Bay home about 4.30pm on Tuesday, police said.
She was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
Temperatures in the area reached the mid-30s on Tuesday, with Weatherzone observing an outside temperature of 27 degrees at Williamtown at 4.30pm.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
No further information was available.
