The Starr Partners Maitland agent is marketing the elegant "Sherborne" at 80 Church Street. He anticipated it to attract plenty of attention.
"It is a marquee property for the Maitland CBD," Mr Rodrick said. "I expect we'll see a fair bit of interest from Newcastle and out of Sydney. When we recently sold Bridge House at 1 High Street that went to a Sydney purchaser. That was one of Maitland's oldest homes. These types of properties always create interest as far afield as Sydney.
"It's a very private home. It has dual street frontage and is in a B4 commercial zoning giving it a wide variety of uses."
The two-storey residence was built circa 1887 and is set on over 1170 square metres of land. It has five bedrooms, three bathrooms including an ensuite with floor-to-ceiling marble, high ornate ceilings, cedar doors and architraves and a filigree trimmed veranda. There is rear access to a triple garage with workshop from Ballard Street, private manicured gardens and an in-ground swimming pool.
Starr Partners will hold a premiere launch of the property on December 7 at 4pm. A price guide has not been disclosed.
Mr Rodrick is also marketing a property built in 1860 at 282 High Street in Maitland that is being used as a gallery and private residence for $885,000 to $910,000. It has three bedrooms and three bathrooms.
