The 23-year-old was one of the the Jets' big-name signings last season but horrifically broke her leg against Adelaide United in January.
Her rehabilitation and recovery was delayed by post-surgery complications but the Jets had left open the door to a return this season if she could get back on the park.
Crummer broke the news via newcastlejets.com.au on Thursday.

"I'm disappointed that I won't be able to get out there with the girls this season, but it's going to be best for my body in the long run," Crummer said.
"There was a chance that I'd be able to get back on the pitch at the back end of this season but it would have been tight and the risk wasn't worth it.
"I'll be staying in Newcastle to focus on my recovery and make sure I'm in top shape for next season in Jets colours."
Jets coach Craig Deans said Crummer would remain "an important part of the squad behind the scenes".
"Obviously the injury was a pretty horrific one and we have to make sure that Larissa's body is back at 100 per cent before we consider getting her back out on the pitch," Deans said.
Newcastle have opened their season with a draw and a loss and host Canberra United at McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday afternoon in the first game of a Jets double-header. The women play at 4.30pm followed by the men against Western Sydney at 7.30pm.
