Bikers For Kids Newcastle Toy Run chairman Daryn Young said more than 6500 motorcyclists participated in the 42nd annual event on Sunday, which involved carrying presents they had donated from Stockton to Wickham, to be given to the Salvation Army to distribute.
"All the toys have been donated by the motorcycle community - we had sleighs, trikes and trailers to pull the toys," Mr Young said.
"It makes a massive difference.
"Not everyone can afford a present for their child.
"A kid's smile will light up the world and we want to put as many smiles on as many faces as possible in the Hunter."
He said about $50,000 of toys had been donated and attendees at the Wickham community fun day had also contributed gifts.
"We have them on a 20 by 20 metre tarp and it's chockers and high," he said.
"There would be thousands of toys. You name it, it's here."
