HOME of uFish brined baits, Marlin Marine and Tackle has finally moved to its new premises at 1-62 Heather Street, Heatherbrae, and will now concentrate their new operation solely on bait products, no longer trading as Marlin Marine and Tackle.

Making the move in November from their former Tea Gardens location, co-owners Paul Viera and Michelle Carter said they are hoping the new business base will bring more smiles to fisher's faces, and closer to those who have been greatly impressed by this bait.

"We appreciate fishing and the families who fish, and we want to offer the best experience without having the waste you would end up with from using fresh or frozen bait," Michelle said.

Being a brined bait, uFish is superior and has the ability to be used over and over again because they don't break down like conventional frozen baits.

"We don't sell frozen bait - we brine it and it lasts much longer than your average baits, is flexible and stays on the hook, and there's no need to freeze it because it will not freeze.

"You could buy a packet of pilchards and take it back out for several trips and it will be as good as the first day."

Michelle said the process of creating the perfect brined baits has been a long time coming.

"It's been a long few years to get to a formula and process that works in brining and we have found this will last from nine to 12 months, and even beyond."

Offering a wide range of uFish brined baits, Michelle said uFish was focused on creating the best and most successful fishing experience for their customers.

"The product range is large - we offer everything from prawns, pilchards, whitebait, blue bait, shucked and whole pipis, squid, worms and much more, including the best crab pot bait you will ever get.

"We want to be able to offer as many options to the fisher-person and the families that they want."

Michelle said the brining process was all proudly done in-house with fresh produce from local fishers to Port Phillip Bay and Albany in Western Australia.

"Everything is natural and nothing is ever put into the mix that shouldn't be there - we often source fresh product for brining locally but it depends on the availability and that can change quite a lot."

Due to the longevity of uFish, Michelle said the product is perfect for holiday camping and fishing trips.

"You can prepare for your trip in advance because you don't have to go and buy your bait the morning of, or worry about keeping it frozen, it truly is a superior bait."

Michelle said she was excited to see the business move in to 2020 with plans to expand distribution of uFish.

"Customers can also find our product at Tea Gardens Pet Supplies and we have bigger plans to get this product up and down the east coast."
