Belle Property listed the property at 4 Macon Way and marketed it through their database of clients over two weeks. Agent Sam Taylor said they fielded offers from four parties prepared to pay above $900,000 before the sale was completed.

According to Australian Property Monitors data, the result surpassed the previous highest sale record of $915,000 for a non-acreage residential property. That mark was set with the sale of 3 Sonja Close in April.
Another high mark was recorded with the sale of one of Waratah's oldest homes. LaneCampos marketed Yelverton at 49 High Street. The five-bedroom home was built circa 1880 and had been in the same family for around 60 years.
It was set for auction but sold prior for $965,000. It is believed to be the second-highest sale for the suburb this year. A price has not been disclosed for the sale of a five-bedroom home at 21 Oxley Road in October but, according to APM data, it had sold for $940,000 three years earlier.
A retreat-like home at 43 Curzon Road in New Lambton was sold by First National Newcastle City before auction for $1.295 million. They also sold 121 Victoria Street prior to its December 7 auction for $1.355 million.
