Edwards confirmed Randell's move between Coalfields clubs, arriving at Cessnock after initially signing with Maitland in October, and it comes a decade since lining up for the Goannas in the 2010 Newcastle Rugby League grand final.
"Tyler has agreed and that's good for us," Edwards said. "He played the 2010 grand final here with me so it's good to see him back. He can play in the halves as well, he's been a professional now for years and he's a good quality kid."
Scone-born Randell, 27, played 44 games for the Knights and most recently made 42 appearances for Wakefield.
Edwards said Musgrove, who is currently signed at Manly, trained with Cessnock earlier this week.
"It looks like he'll end up here," Edwards said.
"We'll just give him space to work all that out with his manager."
Musgrove, 21, has played 14 NSW Cup matches for the Knights and had one run for the Goannas in 2019.
