Geise, an experienced clubman who is now back playing first grade after a few games in seconds earlier this season, picked up 4-27 from 18 overs before finishing with 1-11 off five overs in the visitor's second dig.
Van Kemenade, a former City all-rounder who was playing his first match for Wallsend following a few summers with UTS North Sydney, had 2-25 before scoring 29 runs.
The Tigers, equal fifth on the Newcastle District Cricket Association ladder, lead Stockton by 25 ahead of day two this weekend.
Wallsend dismissed the Seagulls for 115, including a collapse of 5-14 after being 1-22. In reply the hosts passed the total five down and eventually declared at 8-163 with 10 overs remaining.
"We were dominant for the majority of the day," Tigers captain Nathan Price said. "Our bowling was excellent."
Stockton will resume at 1-23 with Laurence Kelly (17) and James Beatty (1) not out.
