Bridge and Civil were engaged by Australian Rail Track Corporation to replace and repair rail structures in 56 sites throughout the Hunter Valley. A key part was the installation of walkways to provide safe access for bridge inspections.
General manager Shannon Drewe said the team's initial idea was to repurpose an electric skateboard into a trolley, but East End Skate directed them to local company Catavolt to make an autonomous trolley and trailer to traverse the walkways carrying components as they were assembled.
