Swell from the south-east to south at 1.5 decreasing to 1m. Wind light and variable early tending north to north-east.
Banks are better as the tide runs in with shorebreaks at Merewether, Pogos and Dixon. Newcastle Beach and South Bar mid-morning. Redhead, Frenchmans and Birdie to the south. Birubi up at Port Stephens.
Shallow banks on low with slight sweeps. Patrolled beaches all have red and yellow flags up.
