Readers can now receive the alerts direct to their inbox at 5am each day, providing them with a direct link to the latest edition of Today's Paper, or to our freshest puzzles.

New subscribers to the Herald can opt in for the daily email alerts when they subscribe to the site. They simply select their preferences during the sign up process.

Current subscribers can opt to receive the alerts by managing their newsletter preferences in My Account or follow the steps below.

- Once you are logged in to the Herald, click on the button on the top right-hand side of the website that displays either your name or email address. This will open the My Account section.

- Once you are in My Account, select Newsletter Preferences.

- Under Newsletter Preferences, tick the boxes for the alerts you would like to receive. You can also update your current newsletter preferences here and opt in for ones you may not be receiving.

- Click save - and you are done.
