PRDnationwide's Jesse Wilton has reported a strong finish to 2019 for one-bedroom apartments in the city.
In the final month of the year, PRD sold a penthouse level apartment with one bedroom and harbour views in the Herald complex at 705/60 King Street for $652,500.
It was followed by the $600,000 exchange of a one-bedroom apartment in the Royal's Hannell building at 27/3 King Street then $535,000 for 603/67 Watt Street in Arvia, both within footsteps of Newcastle beach, to close 2019.
"The market was great over Christmas; it wasn't slowing down," Mr Wilton said. "One-bedders have been hard to sell but they've come back over summer and there has been a spike in investors and first home buyers back in the market."
He said "lifestyle factor" was providing appeal for the sales.
