Newcastle personal trainer Shaun Blomfield did. That's why three years ago at 33 he finally stepped inside the squared circle to achieve a life-long goal of trying out for Newcastle Pro Wrestling.
Blomfield was successful - despite the detour of a snapped ankle - and is a regular performer as Parker Tomas at Newcastle Pro Wrestling's monthly Club Charlestown and House Of Free Fighting shows.
Tomas is an exaggerated version of Blomfield. A babyface (good guy in wrestling speak) who is passionate about spreading the benefits of fitness. The "messiah of motivation" as he describes it.
Most weekends you'll find Parker Tomas running the ropes of wrestling promotions in the Hunter and Sydney.
"If you've got a dream or a goal, don't care about whatever other people say, just chase it," said Blomfield.
"I love the sport. I love what it's given me. I have a family because of this with everybody in Newy Pro, and everyone in the Australian wrestling scene is brilliant."
Blomfield is using that passion to help the next crop of Newcastle Pro Wrestling wannabes prepare for the upcoming tryouts on February 3.
Every Monday throughout January Blomfield is conducting a pre-tryout bootcamp at the House Of Free Fighting's Gateshead gym to get people "wrestling fit". So how does one get wrestling fit?
"We tend to look for people who are trainable, coachable and willing to improve," he said. "With tryouts there's always going to be real variance in fitness levels.
"We have people who love the sport, who've always wanted to do it, but don't have an athletic background and then others who are athletic.
"The main thing, because of the uniqueness of the sport, is consistency. There's always room for improvement."
