Griffiths' playing future was in doubt after he missed the finals on medical advice following struggles with shortness of breath and fatigue late in the year.
It was feared the 28-year-old had a heart condition but cardiology and blood tests have since failed to pinpoint the problem and he has been allowed to resume training.
"I've done pretty much every test under the sun and they can't see anything too major there, which is really positive," Griffiths said.
"I've worn heart monitors for two weeks at a time, and done stress test after stress test and they can't replicate the symptoms I was getting at the end of last year.
"I'm back in pre-season training and I've had a couple of weeks now and I feel good, so it all seems positive."
Griffiths will bolster Magic's back-line and defensive midfield stocks, which have lost Josh Piddington and Justin Broadley to retirement.
"We've lost some key players, but we've got some young boys coming through and we've signed some players," he said. "Tommy Smart has been really good at training and we've got a midfielder from Sydney who looks all right as well. Sam Walker has come in and he's got a proven record of scoring goals.
"I think we'll be all right."
Midfielder Mitch Rooke (Manly) is the latest recruit for Magic, who have also lost Kristian Brymora, Kale Bradbery and Mitch Oxborrow.
