The Trevor Munday-trained gelding has won his past three starts, including a heat and the final of the group 3 Inter City Pace at Maitland last month.
However, the five-year-old was second at his only two starts at Newcastle, both in early 2018. Morisset's Jack Callaghan has the drive from gate five in race five on Newcastle's 10-event program.
Meanwhile, the Hunter harness racing community farewelled Neville "Bill" Tomlin on Thursday at Club Maitland City. Tomlin, 80, died last Friday after a short battle with illness.
A trainer based at Lochinvar, Tomlin was also a life member of the Newcastle club after serving on its committee and working as track curator for many years.
