The Foster brothers and two Maitland products combined to help the Seagulls kick start their T20 Summer Bash campaign with a win over newcomers Magic.
The Seagulls (Stockton and Northern Districts), who play again on January 22, 29 and February 2, comfortably defended 8-158 against the Maitland outfit at Lynn Oval on Wednesday.
Daniel Foster (3-8) did the early damage with the ball as the Magic were dismissed for 65 while older sibling and NSW Country captain Nick Foster took 1-1 after making 21. Trent Park, from Easts, top scored with 40. Former Raymond Terrace junior Sam Jenkinson finished 26 not out and claimed 2-12.
In Wednesday's other game, the Pumas (Hamwicks) beat the Sabres (City) by 29 runs at Learmonth Park. Last season's finalists reached 7-135 and restricted the hosts to 6-106.
