The $1.7 million sale of a one-year-old home after just seven days on the market has set a new price high for The Junction section of Glebe Road.

First National Newcastle City marketed the four-bedroom, two-level residence at 34 Glebe Road. According the Australian Property Monitors data, the previous highest sale along there was $1.6 million.
Domain believes First National also set a street record this month with the sale of a five-bedroom house at 37 Stanley Street in Merewether. The sale price was not disclosed but is believed to be within its guide of $2.3 million to $2.5 million. The previous highest sale for Stanley Street was $1.45 million.
The second-highest sale of a house in Wickham came at the end of last year, according to APM data, when 1880s Orchard Terrace at 24 Union Street was sold by PRDnationwide for $1.1 million and well above its $900,000 price guide. A warehouse conversion in Robert Street sold for $1.15 million in 2017.
PRD reported good interest before the quick sales of two other properties. A renovated 1890s terrace at 7 Barker Street on The Hill with a guide of $1.8 million to $1.95 million sold for an undisclosed sum after two weeks on the market. A three-bedroom home on over 700 square metres of land at 53 Ridge Street, Merewether was bought above its guide of $1.55 million for $1.57 million.
Stone Real Estate's $1.185 million sale of a four-bedroom residence on over 100 square metres of last at 38 Paterson Close in Whitebridge is a street record, according to APM data.
