A cyclist is reportedly in a stable condition following a motor vehicle accident in Newcastle on Thursday morning.

At about 7.40am, emergency services were called to Honeysuckle Drive following reports of a collision between a car and a cyclist, according to NSW Ambulance.
The cyclist, a man believed to be in his 70s, suffered an injury to his ribs and one arm.
He was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
Paramedics treated the motorist, a woman in her 30s, for shock.
NSW Ambulance sent three crews to the incident, which cleared within the hour.
