CORALIE Nichols has been appointed as the Diocesan Chief Executive of the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle.

A statement released by the Anglican Church of Newcastle and quoting Bishop Peter Stuart says Ms Nichols is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors with "significant management, business and entrepreneurial expertise with widely acknowledged leadership skills in managing people and change."
Ms Nichols will lead the financial, administrative, risk and governance work of the Diocese undertaken by the Newcastle Anglican Church Corporation and staff of the Diocesan Office. She is Dungog Shire Council's general manager and previously Director, Community Service, at Sunshine Coast Regional Council (QLD) and Anglicare Northern Territory's CEO.
The statement said Ms Nicholas was "passionate about innovation and excellence and is well qualified to contribute to the needs of the Diocese."
Ms Nichols will work closely with the Bishop, the assistant bishops and CEOs of the diocesan corporate bodies in the continued strategic development of the mission of the Anglican Church in the region.
