Frizell, the explosive St George Illawarra back-rower, is weighing up his future after being tempted by an offer from Newcastle that the Dragons will reportedly struggle to match.
The 28-year-old is off contract at the end of this season and Klemmer thinks he would fit perfectly into a pack that also includes fellow Blues prop Daniel Saifiti and Queensland Origin lock Tim Glasby.
"If we could grab him, that'd be a great signing," Klemmer said.
"He'll love it up here. He'll have a great bunch of fellas up here and great culture we're building up here. I'll let the powers that be control that.
"But we'd love to have him up here."
Asked if he had held any conversations with Frizell about the possibility of joining the Knights, Klemer replied: "I don't want to get stuck into other people's business.
"All I can say is that it would be a good signing for us, as a club.
"But it's up to him. He's got to look after his family at the end of the day.
"It's probably one of the biggest contracts of his career, one of the most important, so he's obviously got to have a good think about what he wants to do.
"I wish him all the best with it. He's a good fella and he'd be a great addition to our club."
Klemmer described Frizell as "one of the best back-rowers in the comp, if not the world".
The pair are likely to renew acquaintances at Maitland Sportsground on Saturday night when the Knights host the Dragons in a pre-season trial match.
Klemmer said it was exciting to be preparing for a game after a gruelling three-month pre-season.
Probably for fans, they want to see results, but we want to play like we've been doing at training," Klemmer said.
"The scoreboard doesn't matter too much, it's mainly our defence and the little attacking things we've been working on.
"If we can nail that, it'll be good ... it's just everyone getting out there and getting that first hit-out, and seeing where we're at."
